Variable General Info (* Note that run information is shown only where run data differ from the "parent" entry for that variable)
Agriculture within 500 m ?Comment:We used QGIS (QGIS Development Team 2014) to determine land cover within a 500m radius from the data collection transect at each site. This spatial scale minimized overlap among sites because most sites were at least 1 km apart, and a 500m radius encompasses the typical foraging ranges of solitary bees (Gathmann & Tscharntke 2002; Zurbuchen et al. 2010). Within this radius, we determined percentage of the surrounding landscape devoted to the two dominant non-prairie landcover types: agriculture, which represented between 0 and 100% of the land within a 500m radius of our sites, and woodlands, which represented between 0 and 50%. |
